It was hard to watch. Seeing the devastation that quickly overtook people unprepared to deal with flooding of unimaginable proportion was heart-wrenching. Hurricane Harvey dumped an estimated 27 trillion gallons of rain over Texas and Louisiana in just six days. It damaged or destroyed over 100,000 homes, and 72,000 people were rescued from dangerous flood waters that blocked all avenues of escape.
30,000 people will ultimately be evacuated from flooded homes in Houston and other cities and towns in the state. Though the flood waters will recede, the catastrophic and historic results of Hurricane Harvey will take years to recover from.
WildeWood Aesthetic Dentistry is going to give victims of the recent hurricanes something to smile about. We knew we wanted to do something that could help especially with Hurricane Irma right around the corner and heading this way.
“While trying to think of how we could give back to the communities devastated by the recent hurricanes – I know that we one person alone won’t make all of the difference, but all of us working together can make miracles happen.” – Dr. Justin Griffin
We are going to donate ALL proceeds from any dental whitening procedure to help in the relief effort. The funds will go to provide water and aid in the cleanup and rebuilding efforts in the affected areas. The fund raising will go on for an undetermined amount of time, but we hope to raise thousands of dollars in the effort.
While we enjoy life in an area unaffected, this effort will also keep those suffering from the hurricanes on our minds and in our hearts. We wish everyone the best and hope for a speedy recovery and rebuild. Our prayers are with the families that have been harmed in any way.
