Your teeth need to last for a lifetime — and we’ve yet to meet anyone who is eager to wear dentures. To keep your mouth functioning at an optimum level, Dr. Griffin strongly recommends dental implants in Columbia, SC.

Dental implants are an ideal option for people who have suffered a root canal failure, endure severely decayed, fractured or missing teeth or who wear a partial or a complete set of dentures. In the past, they were beyond the budget of most patients.

Fortunately, the cost has dropped dramatically over the past few years, opening the door for many of our patients to afford what we consider to be the healthiest dental option available. Columbia, SC dental implants offer many benefits, including:

  • Preservation of your existing jawbone and gum tissue
  • Conservation of adjacent tooth structure
  • Prevention of bone atrophy —that premature, sunken facial appearance
  • Functionally and aesthetically indistinguishable from your natural teeth
  • Superior bite pressure — equal to your natural teeth
  • A success rate, durability and longevity far superior to any other restoration
  • Can be used to secure loose-fitting dentures

Unlike your teeth, an implant never suffers decay and therefore never requires dental work. You can see why our patients absolutely love their dental implants! To revitalize your smile, restore comfort and create ideal function, schedule your complimentary consultation with Dr. Justin Griffin today.

Considering Dental Implants? Columbia Dentist Justin Griffin Approves!

When you have a missing tooth, it affects your entire mouth in a profound way. Without balanced counter-pressure, called “occlusal force”, TMJ symptoms can develop. Surrounding teeth will gradually shift, become loose or fall out. A missing tooth can also cause deterioration of your jawbone structure, leaving you looking more aged and gaunt around the mouth.

An implant procedure has two phases: surgical and restorative. Our Columbia dentist, Dr. Justin Griffin, places the implant or a trusted oral surgeon by using advanced imaging to analyze your mouth and determine the ideal location, position, size and angle of the implant. The surgeon then “implants” a foundation into your jaw bone that functions just like a tooth root. Three months later, you return to the oral surgeon and a small healing cap is placed over the implant location.

Once a secure foundation has been established, Dr. Griffin takes a new impression and places a beautiful crown over the location to mimic the appearance of your original tooth. The full procedure requires several office visits with our dental expert and approximately four months from start to finish.

Are you missing teeth? We welcome you to visit with Columbia dental implants expert Justin Griffin, D.M.D. and discuss the idea of dental implants.
